New MCC Preliminary Saliva Alcohol Instant Screening Test Strips with Blood Alcohol Color Codes and Levels Imprinted on the Strip

Los Angeles, CA August 26, 2004 -- MCC has developed a new Instant Test for the Detection of Alcohol Level in Saliva or other liquid sample. This new innovation has the color indicators on the strip for each level of alcohol from .02%, .04%, .08% and .30%. This is a quick, non-invasive and highly selective method for detecting the presence of alcohol in saliva. The test provides a semi-quantitative estimation of blood alcohol concentration.

A positive MCC Saliva Test result must be verified by an acceptable verification method using GC/MS procedure in a laboratory. The MCC test requires no special training or instrumentation except to follow the simple directions on the pouch or tube. The strips are easy to read and the color developed on the pad can be compared with the color codes printed on the strip or the pouch.

The MCC test uses NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) guidelines in regards to ethanol in blood, breath and saliva conversion comparisons of 1 to 1.

This is an in vitro diagnostic use only test. It should not be used beyond the expiration date. The test device cannot be and should not be reused. The test strip is sensitive to moisture and should be used immediately after removing from the pouch.
